Responsibilities and Duties

The primary role of a Business Banking Loan Specialist II is to work closely with Business Banking team members to collect and process documents required prior to loan closing. These specialists also produce loan documents through the bank’s internal documentation system and ensure that all loan closing requirements are met.

As part of their role, they must be able to work independently but also possess strong team player skills. They are expected to respond to inquiries related to their area of expertise and to requests from customers and other bank personnel within given time frames, adhering to established policies.

Another aspect of their role includes ordering flood certification, title insurance, and other required third-party information to ensure proper documentation and perfection of collateral. They must maintain a thorough understanding of commercial lending documentation for the proper generation of required documents and loan closing.

Furthermore, the Business Banking Loan Specialist II is expected to act as an advisor to Business Banking Specialists I and create loan documentation for the most complex Business Banking transactions. They must proactively communicate loan status with Business Banking Managers and Assistants throughout the process, responding to questions in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Skills

The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least three years of experience in commercial operations, loan processing, or business lending. Applicants with banking, accounting, or finance experience are given preference, as are those with nCino experience.

A successful Business Banking Loan Specialist II should be proficient with MS Office Suite and have a high level of accuracy with great attention to detail. Excellent customer service skills and oral and written communication abilities are essential. Applicants should also be familiar with loan documents and regulatory and legal requirements for loan operations.

Salary for this position is determined based on several factors, including education, work experience, and certifications. The role is also eligible for participation in either an applicable incentive compensation plan or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
