The Role: Director, Investment Banking and Equity Research Technology
The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter with strong business acumen, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to influence and coordinate across functions in a fast-paced environment. The individual will act as a key partner and trusted advisor to the executive, helping to drive priorities, manage operational effectiveness, and ensure seamless communication and alignment across multiple technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
The Director will be responsible for strategic planning and execution, organizational management, budget oversight, vendor management, executive communications and reporting, meeting and event coordination, and information management.
Qualifications
Apart from a Bachelor’s degree, the preferred qualifications include an MBA or related advanced degree, 7+ years of experience in a Chief of Staff, Strategy, Finance, Operations, or Program Management role, preferably in a financial services or technology organization. Additionally, strong analytical, budgeting, and problem-solving skills, exceptional communication skills, proficiency in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and collaboration platforms, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously are essential.
Depth & Scope
The role supports a significant business area, product group, Enterprise Platform, Service, or Capability under a Segment CIO or technology functional area. It requires expert knowledge of the business and bank technology standards from a strategic perspective and managing/directing teams and projects. It also demands sound knowledge of external competition, emerging industry and/or market trends in relation to own business.
Education & Experience
The desired candidate should have a minimum of an undergraduate degree or technical certificate, though a graduate degree is preferred. They should also have 10+ years of related experience, expert knowledge of business and bank technology standards, and a solid understanding of strategic direction.
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements of the role include occasional domestic travel, continuous sedentary work, performing multiple tasks, operating standard office equipment, and the ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
