Role and Responsibilities of a Banking Associate at TD Bank

The Banking Associate plays a key role in delivering TD’s Brand promise at the store location. This role is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help Customers achieve their financial goals.

The Banking Associate performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a Store location. This includes processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The associate is responsible for delivering end-to-end advice customers expect: building trust with educational content & tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights & recommendations.

The associate utilizes TD’s systems and tools to engage with Customers to acquire and deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance to attract, and retain the customer. They are adept at understanding customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products, services, and refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner.

Education and Experience Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position is expected to have a high school diploma or GED. They should have at least 1 year of experience working with customers in any capacity, which could include volunteering, education, or military experience. Other desired skills and qualifications include strong organization skills, excellent communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to work independently and within deadlines.

Customer, Shareholder, and Employee/Team Accountabilities

In line with TD’s commitment to legendary customer service, the Banking Associate is responsible for consistently providing excellent customer service while transacting, promoting, educating and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. They also play a significant role in ensuring compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures adhering to required controls, critical dates, and accurate documents.

As a team member, a Banking Associate contributes to a positive work environment by participating fully as a member of the team. They actively seek opportunities to improve the delivery of work with high attention to quality standards and positively embrace change. They may also train and act as a mentor to newer colleagues.

Physical Requirements and Additional Information

The role of a Banking Associate also involves certain physical requirements. For instance, it requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and the ability to concentrate for long periods of time. The candidate may also be required to travel domestically occasionally.
