The Role of a Senior Associate, Consumer Risk Advisor
As a member of the Consumer Risk team within the Retail Bank Risk Office, you’ll be tasked with shaping the risk mitigation strategy for one or more areas of Consumer Retail Bank. You’ll collaborate with various stakeholders to identify unmitigated risks and assist with opportunities to enhance the control environment, thereby reducing risks for the business while fostering lasting partnerships. This role primarily focuses on risks and controls impacting one or more of our retail bank processing functions and helps facilitate a well-managed risk environment.
Senior Risk Advisors at Capital One are highly motivated risk management professionals who possess the ability to think critically and problem-solve. Risk Advisors are expected to have excellent organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities of the Role
As a Senior Associate, Consumer Risk Advisor, your responsibilities will include facilitating various Risk Assessments in collaboration with the line of business and vertical Risk Advisory. You will also work with Compliance and Operational Risk Management to proactively identify and rectify potential risks. With a keen eye for detail, you’ll review and analyze business processes to assess the current risk and control environment, ensuring impacts are appropriately assessed, documented, and implemented. You’ll be expected to develop and leverage relationships with stakeholders, meet the 2nd line compliance requirements, and manage problems effectively to mitigate risk within Retail Bank Consumer. Providing support to business partners during audits and regulatory exams, and implementing and delivering on a subset of horizontal program deliverables are also part of your role.
Qualifications and Experience
Basic qualifications for this role include at least 2 years of Risk Management experience, 1 year of Project Management experience, and 1 year of Google Suite experience, such as Gmail, Slides, Sheets, Docs, etc. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree, 3+ years of Project Management experience leading cross-functional projects or programs in Risk, and 3+ years of Financial Services risk management experience.
Salary and Benefits
The full-time annual salaries for this role range from $86,000 to $107,900 depending on the location. The actual salary offered to any candidate will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
