The bank is currently seeking to fill the position of a Regional Banking Relationship Manager, Senior. This role is integral to the bank’s operations, with the individual expected to bring in new business relationships and also maintain and deepen existing ones. But what does the role really entail? Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Regional Banking Relationship Manager, Senior has a broad range of responsibilities. They are expected to aggressively prospect and network to acquire new, profitable business relationships, providing insights and advice in the process. They are also required to build and maintain a robust network of local market COI relationships, both external and internal.
One of the key roles of the manager is analyzing, structuring, and closing profitable loan transactions of the most complex nature in Regional Banking. They are also tasked with maintaining and confirming the credit worthiness of customers, gathering, reviewing, and tracking appropriate documentation from applicants.
The manager is also expected to manage and maintain strong relationships with a book of existing business customers by providing insights and advice. Their target market will primarily be businesses with sales sizes of $2 MM to $50 MM and credit exposures up to $25 MM. They are also expected to focus heavily on businesses with sales sizes above $25 MM.
Other responsibilities include portfolio management, working with the Huntington Loan Center and Commercial Loan Servicing Department to ensure accuracy and completeness of credit packages and delivery, representing the bank within the community, working well within a team environment, and partnering with junior colleagues on complex credits.
Qualifications
The basic qualifications for the role include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and at least 10 years of Business Banking/Commercial Banking experience. Preferred qualifications include a well-versed understanding of complex commercial credits with 10+ years Business Banking or Commercial sales experience, experience in a role requiring sales strategy and acquisition of new clients, knowledge of business banking products, analytical, credit and negotiating skills, direct outside financial sales and business development experience, and excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
