Role Description and Key Responsibilities
The Banking Associate is a key player in delivering TD Bank’s brand promise at the store location. This role is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help Customers achieve their financial goals. Primarily, the associate performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within the store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services.
Moreover, the associate is expected to deliver end-to-end advice to customers, build trust through educational content and tools, provide consultative support, and advocate with proactive insights and recommendations. The role also involves utilizing TD’s systems and tools to engage with Customers, acquire and deepen relationships, and refer customers to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner to cater to their specific financial needs.
Education and Experience
Applicants for the Banking Associate role should have a high school diploma or GED. A minimum of 1-year experience working with customers in any capacity is preferred. This experience can be demonstrated through any of the following: volunteering, education, or military experience. A demonstrated ability to work independently and within deadlines, strong organization skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential. Notary License is preferred but not required.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
The Banking Associate is responsible for providing legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. They are expected to establish and nurture customer relationships, manage wait times for client meetings, and understand and support the Bank’s customer service strategy. On the shareholder front, the associate ensures compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer.
Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to perform multiple tasks and operate standard office equipment continuously. It involves frequent periods of sitting, standing, and walking, as well as occasional lifting and carrying of items under 25 lbs. The associate is required to respond quickly to sounds and concentrate for long periods of time.
