Compensation Range

Our hourly compensation ranges between $21.80 and $24.40, depending on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.

About The Job

This job’s primary goal is to provide exceptional customer service and financial solutions through both branch-based and call center interactions. In this role, you will be a key point of contact for customers, addressing their banking needs, answering inquiries, and providing personalized support across multiple communication channels, including in-person, phone, and online.

Essential Functions

  • Interact with customers both in person and over the phone to ensure their financial needs are being met through needs-based conversations and sales fulfillment.
  • Actively listen, understand, and make recommendations of products and services based on customer needs to ensure individual and team sales and services goals are achieved.
  • Educate customers on a variety of retail products and digital solutions that enhance the customer experience and contribute to achieving sales goals.
  • Ensure financial transactions are completed accurately and efficiently, while complying with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify complex financial needs and refer customers to bank specialists when appropriate.
  • Respond to customer calls, offering real-time solutions for account management, online banking, and transactional inquiries.
  • Utilize CRM systems to track and resolve customer issues efficiently and maintain detailed records of interactions.
  • Authenticate callers to protect our customers and the bank from fraud attempts and take additional steps to mitigate risk when needed.
  • Responsible for more advanced product and system knowledge such as Online Banking Services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Strong sales skills with the ability to provide an excellent customer experience by easily connecting with customers in-person and over the phone.
  • Ability to meet personal and customer services expectations.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Commerce Bank’s driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements.
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain adaptable to a variety of situations with an optimistic outlook that is aligned with our culture and Core Value.
  • Ability to adapt and shift priorities, workflows and schedules due to customer demands.
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 1+ years of retail banking and/or sales experience required.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience required.

For this position, Commerce Bank will review your motor vehicle driving record. If you express interest in this position, you’ll be asked to authorize our review of that record. Federal regulations require Commerce Bank to prepare an investigatory consumer report which will disclose credit history. If you express interest in this position, you will be asked to authorize that report.

This compensation range is for the Banking Services Specialist job and contemplates a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to location, skill sets, education, relevant experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $21.80 – $24.40 per hour.
