Market Director – Bank Private Wealth Southeast

Opportunity at Vanguard: Market Director for Bank Private Wealth

Vanguard, a globally recognized investment management company, is seeking a seasoned sales professional to join their dedicated Bank team as a Market Director. This role is a strategic opportunity for individuals with deep-rooted relationships in the Bank Private Wealth market.

As a Market Director, you will be part of a senior sales team and will maintain a partnership with an internal sales executive. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of territory strategy and management, pipeline development, and day-to-day execution across a dedicated book of clients and prospects.

The Role

Located in the Southeast territory, including key states such as Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas, the Market Director will be responsible for representing an institutional-grade investment platform with established credibility among large, sophisticated private banks.

The role offers an avenue to influence meaningful, channel-level sales outcomes, obtain exposure to senior internal and external leadership, and drive the growth and retention of assets among Bank Private Wealth investment professionals with $750M+ in AUM.

Success in this role is measured by strategic market penetration, share growth, durability of partnerships, and the scale and quality of outcomes delivered.

About Vanguard

Vanguard’s core purpose is to take a stand for all investors, to treat them fairly, and to give them the best chance for investment success. The company prioritizes investors in all its actions. As a result, clients, advisors, and institutions have entrusted Vanguard with $12 trillion in AUM.

Vanguard’s Financial Advisor Services is the largest and fastest-growing division within the company. Their sales teams serve Bank, RIA, and Broker-Dealer clients by consulting them on their business and offering investment products, research, and non-investment solutions.

Vanguard is a leader in both indexed and active products, with an opportunity to drive greater adoption of their institutional-quality Fixed Income investment solutions within the Bank Private Wealth market.

What it Takes to be a Market Director at Vanguard

The role of Market Director requires the ability to generate and deepen relationships with Bank Private Wealth investment professionals managing $750M+ in AUM, with at least 60%+ of interactions in-person.

The Market Director must be able to drive results and outcomes, with a strong emphasis on fixed income solutions and custom strategy execution.

Having a deep understanding of capital markets, investment management, and industry trends is also crucial to the role. This knowledge will enable the Market Director to position Vanguard’s offerings credibly and consultatively, especially in areas where Vanguard aims to disrupt, such as fixed income.

Furthermore, the Market Director must be able to develop and execute a strategic sales plan focused on depth over breadth, enabling stronger retention, loyalty, and asset growth.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of ten years related experience, preferably with at least 3 years of experience selling to banks. An undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience is required.

Moreover, FINRA Series 7 & 63 are required.

Special Factors

The role requires living in the territory or operating from either the Malvern, PA, or Charlotte, NC office location. The territory to be managed covers the Southeast, notably states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas.

Existing relationships and connectivity to these markets are preferred. Additionally, deep knowledge of fixed income markets and fixed income investment landscape is preferred. CFA or similar investment credentials are also preferred.

It is important to note that Vanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.

About Vanguard

Vanguard’s mission is more than just a statement; it’s a commitment. They work for the long-term financial wellbeing of their clients, lead through transformative products and services, and constantly learn and develop their skills as individuals and as a team. From Malvern to Melbourne, their mission drives them forward and inspires them to be their best.

How Vanguard Works

Vanguard has implemented a hybrid working model for the majority of their crew members, designed to capture the benefits of enhanced flexibility while enabling in-person learning, collaboration, and connection. They believe their mission-driven and highly collaborative culture is a critical enabler to support long-term client outcomes and enrich the employee experience.
