Job Responsibilities
A Business Banking Consultant Senior plays a crucial role in supporting underserved entrepreneurs. This is achieved by building relationships, utilizing networks, and working with local centers of influence. The role requires the ability to create and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing Community Development Financial Institutions, Non-Profits, and other community organizations.
Part of the job involves maintaining an active involvement in community organizations like Chambers of Commerce and non-profit boards. This involvement aids in understanding diverse types of businesses, industries, markets, financial and economic concepts, and helps in developing business networks and prospects.
The responsibility also extends to providing comprehensive and customized business banking solutions. These solutions, tailored to the financial needs and circumstances of businesses, are delivered through knowledge of business, finance, banking, credit, and risk management.
Furthermore, a Business Banking Consultant Senior partners with various lines of business to connect clients with specialists who can help meet their financial needs. These partners include Chase Wealth Management, Home Lending, Branch Teams, among others.
Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
The role demands a minimum of 5 years’ experience in business banking relationship management or related business/commercial lending experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience is a requirement. Strong relationship management skills, tactical business development, negotiation skills, and the ability to offer comprehensive solutions that best meet client needs are also crucial.
Preferred qualifications include extensive knowledge of business and credit underwriting with commercial credit training. Experience in owning or operating a small business is also an advantage.
