Key Responsibilities

The manager is responsible for managing branch staff, including daily supervision, interviewing and hiring, training, performance appraisals, career development, and handling separations of direct reports.

Generating Growth

They are tasked with generating growth that supports the bank’s goals by retaining, growing, and attracting clients. This involves cultivating professional relationships with customers, engaging customers in meaningful conversations to uncover needs, and making appropriate recommendations.

Ensuring Operational Efficiency

The manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the banking center, executing strategic and tactical plans to ensure sound operational performance and effective audit results. They must also ensure regular and effective communication with banking center team members and regional leadership.

Customer Service and Community Engagement

The Banking Center Manager must model and champion the Bank’s standards for exceptional customer service. They must also ensure engagement in community activities to demonstrate community involvement and support, facilitate Bank branding/name recognition, and promote business development and staff recruitment efforts.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

The position demands a comprehensive knowledge of retail bank products and services, bank regulations, policies, procedures, and operational standards. Essential skills include effective planning and organizational skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

The manager should also have the ability to think strategically and translate goals into actionable, detailed, day-to-day execution. They must be a team-oriented leader, capable of managing and thriving in a continually changing environment.

Basic Qualifications

Basic qualifications for the role include a Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience, 2+ years’ retail client service and/or business development experience, and a proven achievement of business growth goals and financial targets. A comprehensive knowledge of bank products/services and regulations is also required.
