Role Overview and Responsibilities
The AVP/VP Regulatory Reporting/Accountant will be responsible for managing and preparing regulatory reporting for the Federal Reserve Bank (FED/FRB), NYS Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) and US Commerce. They will also be tasked with updating the mapping in the Reg-Reporter application – a critical tool in the financial reporting process.
The individual will have to coordinate with the Head Office and FED for FR Y-7 and FR Y-7Q report submissions for Bank Holding companies. This includes the maintenance and update of the Organization Chart. They will also be expected to monitor changes in regulation or accounting rules that impact regulatory reporting, maintain FRB Reporting Central, and respond to inquiries from the regulators.
Further Responsibilities
On the accounting side, the role involves Home Office Management Reporting, coordinating the Branch General Ledger first line account management exercise, and reporting the quarterly exceptional to Head Office second line account manager. The individual will also be in charge of First Line Account Management for select GL accounts.
In the area of Credit Accounting, the role oversees the reporting of loan loss reserves and workouts. The individual will also be expected to perform IFRS analysis related to stage 1 and 2 reserves and carry out CECL calculations derived from stage 1 and 2 reserve calculations. Additionally, the role involves reporting and maintaining the branch leading indicator and all other aspects of accounting reporting.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the AVP/VP Regulatory Reporting/Accountant role should have 5+ years FRB/FED/DFS Regulatory Reporting and General Ledger experience within a Bank. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required. Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Credit Accounting would be advantageous. Work Arrangement and Remuneration
The role requires the individual to be present 2-3 days per week in the midtown Manhattan office, hence, candidates should be willing and able to travel to this location. The salary is flexible, dependent on experience, with a range of $125-150k base plus bonus and excellent benefits.
