Banking Associate Position Overview

The advertised position is part-time, with an expectation of 30 hours per week. The compensation ranges between $22.00 – $27.75 USD, depending on the candidate’s skills and experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs. As a Banking Associate, you will play a key role in delivering TD’s Brand promise at the store. This role is accountable for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.
Key Responsibilities of a Banking Associate
The Banking Associate at TD Bank is expected to perform a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store location. These include processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services.
You will be responsible for building trust with customers through educational content and tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations. You will also utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers to acquire and deepen relationships by providing advice and guidance to ultimately attract, and retain the customer.
Moreover, understanding customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products, services, and/or refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner, while ensuring a positive customer experience, is a crucial part of the role.
Desired Skills and Experience
TD Bank is looking for candidates with a high school diploma or GED and at least a year of experience working with customers in any capacity. This could be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. It is also preferred that candidates have teller experience and demonstrated customer service skills.
Other desirable skills include the ability to work during operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, strong organization skills, excellent communication skills, demonstrated effective problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a Notary License.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
The Banking Associate role also comes with customer and shareholder accountabilities. You will consistently provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. You will also establish and nurture customer relationships by consistently displaying product knowledge, actively listening to customer needs while engaging in additional conversations to identify any additional needs and offer a solution or partner referral.
Shareholder accountabilities include ensuring compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer.
