Job Description
The Banking Associate plays a key role in delivering TD’s brand promise at the store location. The role involves processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on banking products and services. The Banking Associate is also responsible for building trust with customers, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations. Furthermore, the associate will be using TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers, deepen relationships, and attract and retain them.
Qualifications
Applicants for the Banking Associate role should at least have a high school diploma or GED. They should also have at least one year of experience working with customers in any capacity, and this can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Other preferred qualifications include customer service skills, teller experience, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A Notary License is also preferred.
Accountabilities
The Banking Associate will have various accountabilities to customers, shareholders, and the team. These include ensuring legendary customer service, nurturing customer relationships, managing wait times, and understanding and supporting the Bank’s customer service strategy. The Associate is also expected to comply with all regulations and policies, accurately process transactions, and follow required open/close procedures. Lastly, the Associate should contribute to a positive work environment, actively seek opportunities to improve delivery of work, and embrace change.
Physical Requirements
While the role involves mostly sedentary work, it also requires a degree of physical activity. This includes standing, walking, lifting/carrying items under 25 lbs, bending, kneeling, and reaching overhead. The associate may also need to move safely in confined spaces and perform multiple tasks. The role requires concentration for long periods of time and the application of common sense to deal with problems involving standardized situations.
