Role of a Banking Associate
The Banking Associate is a professional in banking, responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. This role encompasses a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store location, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services.
As a Banking Associate, you will be expected to deliver end-to-end advice to customers, build trust with educational content & tools, provide consultative support, and advocate with proactive insights & recommendations. You will utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers to acquire and deepen relationships, understanding customer financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products and services.
Qualifications and Skills Required
The qualifications for this role include a high school diploma or GED, and preferably one year of experience working with customers in any capacity. This could be demonstrated through any of the following: volunteering, education, or military experience.
You should have strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, demonstrated effective problem-solving skills, and the ability to schedule and prioritize work. You should be proficient in Microsoft Office, and the ability to work independently and within deadlines is crucial. Having a Notary License is preferred, but not mandatory.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
The role also has certain customer and shareholder accountabilities. The associate is expected to consistently provide legendary customer service, establish and nurture customer relationships, manage wait times to meet with a Banker, and understand and support the Bank’s customer service strategy. On the shareholder side, the associate ensures compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations and accurately processes cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions and other account servicing requests.
