The Banking Associate role falls under the Personal & Commercial Banking line of business at TD. The Banking Associate plays a vital role in delivering TD’s brand promise at a store location. This role involves completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.
Role Requirements and Responsibilities
The Banking Associate performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within a store location. Some of these tasks include processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The Associate also provides end-to-end advice customers expect: building trust with educational content & tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights & recommendations.
Educational and Experience Requirements
Prospective Banking Associates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience working with customers. This experience can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Other preferred qualifications include demonstrated customer service skills, teller experience, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A Notary License is also preferred.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
Banking Associates are expected to provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. They are responsible for establishing and nurturing customer relationships, managing wait times for appointments with a Banker, and engaging in lobby leadership. They are also expected to ensure compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations.

As part of the TD team, Banking Associates are expected to contribute to a positive work environment, be active participants in personal performance and development activities, collaborate with team members, and actively seek opportunities to improve the delivery of work.
Physical Requirements of the Role
The role involves a mixture of sedentary and physical work. Frequent tasks include operating standard office equipment, responding quickly to sounds, sitting, standing, and walking. Occasional tasks may require lifting/carrying items under 25 lbs., squatting, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead or forward.
