The Product Team at Brex

Our Product team is at the heart of Brex’s mission to empower businesses to make better financial decisions. With a deep understanding of our business, we identify and scope out the most impactful opportunities for growth. We are responsible for aligning cross-functional teams, such as Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Design, to key decisions. We drive products from inception to launch, setting strategies that enable Brex to grow rapidly and help our customers reach their full potential.

Role of Director of Product Management, Banking + AP

As the Director of Product Management, Banking + AP, you will have the opportunity to define and drive the strategy for one of Brex’s most critical domains: the Operating Account platform. This platform combines Banking and Accounts Payable, making Brex the go-to choice for customers to process payments from day one.

You will be instrumental in shaping how Brex wins in this category by creating a unified system that customers choose to run their business. By aligning product capabilities with customer buying criteria, partner ecosystems, and segment needs, you will strengthen Brex’s competitive edge and expand our role at the center of business finance.

Your responsibilities will include setting a multi-year platform strategy, leading a team of Product Managers, and partnering deeply with various internal and external stakeholders. Your work will shape Brex’s competitive advantage in embedded banking and financial operations, making Brex indispensable to how businesses move and manage money.

Where You’ll Work

This role can be based in either our San Francisco, Seattle, or New York City office. You must be willing to work in the office at least three days per week. Flexible remote working is available for up to four weeks per year.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as the Director of Product Management, Banking + AP, will be diverse and challenging. You will be expected to:

  • Define and drive the Operating Account strategy.
  • Lead complex, regulated systems across Banking and AP.
  • Build and lead a high-performing PM team.
  • Deliver measurable business impact.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • 10+ years of product management experience.
  • A proven track record of setting and executing multi-quarter or multi-year strategies.
  • Strong business and systems thinking skills.
  • Data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Experience building trusted, mission-critical products.
  • High standards for product rigor and execution quality.

Bonus Points

Additional qualifications which will be considered as a bonus include:

  • Experience with accounts payable, payments, or money movement workflows, especially in B2B environments.
  • Experience with financial infrastructure, fintech platforms, or regulated products.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, APIs, ledgers, payment rails, or financial data models.
  • Experience improving or automating procurement, bill pay, vendor management, or operational finance workflows.
  • Track record of driving deposit growth, balance-based revenue, or usage-driven platform adoption.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $340,000 – $425,000, although the starting base pay will depend on various factors. This includes the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package.
