Finance Vice President Role in Global Corporate Banking (GCB)
At JPMorgan Chase & Co., the role of the Finance Vice President in the Global Corporate Banking (GCB) team is integral to the company’s mission. This position requires a high level of expertise and responsibility, with a focus on financial planning and analysis (FP&A). The FP&A teams are responsible for a wide range of activities including forecasting and budgeting, analysis of financial/business metrics, delivery of weekly/monthly/quarterly management reporting, development of new reporting capabilities (e.g. dashboards), and advising the line of business on product performance.
Leading the Financial Agenda
As a Finance Vice President on the GCB team, you would lead the financial agenda for Public Sector, Infra and Fund Banking business segments while providing oversight to FIG. This would entail owning the segment P&L and the full planning lifecycle-budget, monthly outlooks, and multi-year strategy-while delivering clear, decision-ready insights to senior leadership. You will set reporting standards, drive performance management and stakeholder alignment, and elevate data quality and controls through disciplined governance and modern automation.
Job Responsibilities
The role of a Finance Vice President demands a myriad of responsibilities. These include owning the segment P&L for horizontal business segments, leading budgeting, reporting, forecasting, and analysis. The professional in this role sets the annual budget, monthly outlooks, and multi-year plan, reconciling bottom-up builds to top-down targets and product economics. They run the month-end performance cycle and deliver variance analysis versus plan and prior year with clear “so what” insights and risk-opportunity framing for senior leadership. Additionally, they develop and track performance metrics while producing executive-ready presentations and financial analyses on priority topics.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
The Finance Vice President role requires a unique set of qualifications, capabilities, and skills. With over 10 years of work experience in Finance or consulting, the candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other analytics focused major. Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint, advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data visualization, and strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities are key to this role. Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills, excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, and integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information are also essential.
