Senior Product Manager, Square Core Banking

Senior Product Manager, Square Core Banking

Introduction

Since its inception in 2009, Square has been a game-changer in the world of commerce, offering revolutionary solutions that have transformed the way sellers do business. From enabling seamless payment processes to providing integrated, omnichannel solutions, Square has effectively bridged the gap between traditional and digital commerce.

Evolution of Square

When Square first opened its doors, it focused on helping sellers accept payments effortlessly without missing out on any sales opportunities. However, the team quickly realized that sellers were being hindered by outdated products and tools that were not compatible with each other. This prompted Square to branch out into software development, where they began creating integrated, omnichannel solutions.

These solutions were designed to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer ‘buy now, pay later’ functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Alongside these tools, Square also embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, allowing merchants to access a business loan and manage their cash flow all in one place.

Adding Value with Afterpay

Square recognized the value that Afterpay could bring to its suite of tools. As a leading buy now, pay later service, Afterpay further empowers Square to provide omnichannel tools that unlock significant value and growth. This move allows sellers to capture the attention of the next generation of shoppers, increase order sizes, and compete on a larger scale.

Partnering with Sellers

Today, Square serves a wide range of sellers, from those who are just starting out to large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations. As these sellers grow, so too do Square’s solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of Square as it continues to build a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, while also helping sellers worldwide do the same.
