Job Description and Expectations

The Banking Associate plays a pivotal role in delivering TD’s brand promise at a store location. The role requires the incumbent to accurately complete everyday banking transactions and provide advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals. The position involves a wide range of tasks, including processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on banking products and services. The associate is expected to build a trust-based relationship with the customers through consultative support, proactive insights, and recommendations.

The Banking Associate is also responsible for understanding the financial needs of customers to identify opportunities to promote and educate about products and services. This includes referring customers to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner while ensuring a positive customer experience. The associate is expected to handle both teller line and platform duties, including opening/closing personal deposit accounts, everyday bank transactions, addressing debit card/credit card issues, and providing support for mobile and online banking.

Education and Experience Requirements

Eligibility for this position requires a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of experience working with customers in any capacity. This can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Demonstrated customer service skills are preferred. Teller experience, while not mandatory, is preferred. The candidate must also have strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and having a Notary License is preferred.

Customer, Shareholder, and Team Accountabilities

The Banking Associate is expected to provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD products to new and existing customers. They will also establish and nurture customer relationships, manage wait times for customer meetings, and support the Bank’s customer service strategy. The associate will ensure tasks are performed within established policy and procedures, and comply with all external audit, regulator, and compliance requests and findings. The associate is also expected to contribute to a positive work environment by participating as a team player, seeking opportunities to improve work delivery, and fostering a unique, inclusive culture.

Physical Requirements and Travel

The job requires the associate to perform multiple tasks and operate standard office equipment. The position involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting/carrying. Domestic travel is occasional, and international travel is not required.
