Job Summary

The US Subsidiary Banking team at J.P. Morgan manages relationships with US subsidiaries of international corporate clients. They cater to their clients’ diverse financial needs, ranging from cash management, trade, derivatives, and financing. This team works in close collaboration with headquarter bankers and product partners across various regions to coordinate the coverage strategy.

Job Responsibilities

The Executive Director/Vice President in this role has a broad range of responsibilities. The primary duty is to build and expand banking relationships with Treasurers and CFOs of German corporate banking clients in the US. This involves initiating dialogue at both headquarters in Germany and at local levels across the US. Their role is to educate clients on JPMorgan’s corporate banking capabilities for US subsidiaries of German clients.

Other duties include identifying new business opportunities, conducting comprehensive client analysis, creating forward-looking business plans for clients, and maintaining existing business relationships. They’re responsible for converting client analysis into tangible financial solutions. They also conduct regular cross-functional reviews with peers (locally and regionally) to ensure coordinated management of client relationships and business opportunities.

Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Candidates for this role must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be fluent in both English and German. They should have a proven ability to create, develop, and maintain trusted client relationships. A solid understanding of key products used, such as treasury services, flow derivatives, FX, commodities, custody, fixed income, and integrated reporting and financing products, is essential.

They should have the ability to navigate large organizations, form strong partnerships, develop viable strategies to grow the business, and execute those strategies pragmatically. It’s also crucial that they have a high standard of personal integrity and commercial judgement, excellent analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of covering clients in a cross-cultural environment.

Experience living and working in Germany, flexibility to travel frequently across the US and the globe, and a bachelor’s degree are required. An MBA and a minimum of 7-12 years of Financial Services / Banking experience are preferred. Additionally, candidates must pass Series 79, 63, and SIE FINRA exams prior to or shortly after joining.
