The successful candidate will lead a team of vertical financial analysts supporting Retail, Commercial, and Small Business Bank Technology portfolios’ financials. Key Responsibilities of the Manager, Financial Analysis (Bank Tech Finance)
As the work lead, the Manager of Bank Technology Finance will provide oversight for the actuals and outlook, present monthly financial analysis to internal leadership, and manage quarterly or annual strategic exercises related to the business.
Insight into Business Financial Performance
The candidate will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the components of the Technology P&L. This understanding will help drive insights and analytics on the financial performance of the business. It will also involve generating ongoing analytical insights into overall financial performance.
Business Communication and Strategy
Creating and delivering presentations to senior management, partnering with internal leaders to provide strategic finance and finance perspective on business initiatives, and independently managing, prioritizing, and delegating tasks are also part of the role. The candidate will need to create well-managed sustainable processes and continuously challenge what’s possible.
Skills Required for the Role
The ideal candidate must possess problem-solving, strategic thinking, and influencing skills. The role requires the ability to articulate the outcomes of analysis and relevant insights. Critical evaluation of option sets and presenting recommendations is a key requirement. The candidate should be effective under both open-ended and tight timelines. Comfort in working in a blank canvas and the ability to get work done through others is highly desirable.
General Responsibilities
The general responsibilities include financial analysis & reporting, assisting in the development of executive business presentations, handling ad-hoc requests and special projects, coordinating across Capital One’s corporate Global Finance teams in support of business decisions, and performing ad-hoc financial analysis to investigate and assess any industry related topics and strategic options.
Basic and Preferred Qualifications
The basic qualifications for this role include a Bachelor’s Degree or military experience, a minimum of 4 years’ of experience in financial analysis and financial modeling, and at least 1 year of experience managing a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s Degree in Finance and 5+ years of financial planning and analysis experience.
