Job Description

The role of a Banking Associate is pivotal to TD’s brand and customer service. The associate will be responsible for accurately processing everyday banking transactions and providing advice and support on various banking services, products, and tools. The associate will play a crucial role in assisting customers in achieving their financial goals.

Depth & Scope

The Banking Associate will be expected to perform a wide range of tasks within the store location. This includes processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on banking products and services. The associate will also be responsible for providing consultative support, making proactive recommendations, and using TD’s systems and tools to deepen customer relationships.

Education & Experience

The ideal candidate for the Banking Associate position should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of customer service experience. Teller experience is preferred, and the candidate must be able to work during operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, are also required.

Customer Accountabilities

The Banking Associate will be the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and is expected to provide exceptional customer service consistently. This includes establishing and nurturing customer relationships, managing wait times for meetings with a banker, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.

Shareholder Accountabilities

As a representative of TD, the Banking Associate will be expected to adhere to company guidelines and regulations, ensuring compliance and minimizing risk. Responsibilities include accurately processing transactions and applying customer authentication principles to new account openings and transactions.

Employee/Team Accountabilities

The associate must contribute to a positive work environment by aligning with TD’s Model, Brand, and Culture. They must also actively seek opportunities to improve the quality of their work and take ownership of their career and aspirations. The associate may also be asked to train and mentor newer colleagues.

Physical Requirements

The job involves occasional domestic travel and frequent sedentary work, including performing multiple tasks, operating standard office equipment, and sitting, standing, and walking frequently. The associate must also be able to concentrate for long periods of time, read, write, and comprehend instructions, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
