Job Description

The Banking Associate is responsible for a wide range of tasks within the store location. These include processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. This role serves to deliver end-to-end advice customers expect by building trust through educational content and tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations.

The successful candidate will utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers to acquire and deepen relationships, understand customer financial needs, and accurately complete everyday banking transactions. They will also provide services for customers, on both the teller line and platform, such as opening and closing personal deposit accounts, handling everyday bank transactions, dealing with debit card and credit card issues, and assisting with mobile and online banking.

Education and Experience

TD seeks a candidate with a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience working with customers. This experience can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Ideally, the candidate should have demonstrated customer service skills and teller experience. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, effective problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a Notary License are preferred.

Customer, Shareholder, and Employee Accountabilities

The Banking Associate is responsible for providing legendary customer service while handling transactions, promoting and educating on TD products, and managing wait times for banker meetings. They also engage in lobby leadership, understand and support the Bank’s customer service strategy, and ensure tasks are performed within established policy and procedures.

The role also involves maintaining compliance with company guidelines and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer. The candidate will also be responsible for complying with all regulations, policies, and procedures, performing transactions accurately and efficiently, and acting as a Dual Control agent when required.

The successful candidate will contribute to a positive work environment, be an active participant in personal performance and development activities, collaborate with team members, and seek opportunities to improve the delivery of work with high attention to quality standards.
