Role and Responsibilities of the Banking Associate
The Banking Associate role is considered as a key position in TD Bank. The role involves delivering TD’s brand promise at the store location by accurately completing everyday banking transactions. They are also responsible for providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help Customers achieve their financial goals.
The Banking Associate performs a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within the store location. This includes processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, providing advice to customers, promoting TD’s systems and tools, understanding customer financial needs, and servicing customers with opening/closing personal deposit accounts.
Education and Experience Requirements
The candidate must possess a high school diploma or GED and have at least one year of experience working with customers. This experience could be demonstrated through any of the following: volunteering, education, or military experience. A demonstrated ability in customer service is preferred. The candidate should also have the ability to work during operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as scheduled.
Customer Accountabilities
As a Banking Associate, you are expected to provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. You have to establish and nurture customer relationships by actively listening to customer needs while engaging in additional conversations to identify any additional needs and offer a solution or partner referral.
Shareholder Accountabilities
Banking Associates are required to ensure compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act to minimize risk and protect the customer.
Employee/Team Accountabilities
Banking Associates are also responsible for contributing to a positive work environment by aligning to TD Model, Brand, and Culture by participating fully as a member of the team. They are expected to act as a brand champion both internally and externally and be an active participant in personal performance and development activities.
Physical Requirements
The role of a Banking Associate demands a certain level of physical activity such as performing multiple tasks, operating standard office equipment, sitting, standing, walking, and moving safely in confined spaces.
