Competitive Compensation and Benefits

SMBC Group offers a competitive salary range between $190,000.00 and $227,000.00 for this role. The specific salary offered will be based on the applicant’s qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC provides a robust portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description and Objectives

SMBC Group is seeking a highly organized and strategic employee to lead the Office of the CIO Capital Markets function. This role will serve as a trusted partner to the CIO for Capital Markets. The individual will be responsible for creating high-impact executive presentations, preparing the CIO for daily meetings, and ensuring priorities are reflected in scheduling and follow-through. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to synthesize complex topics into clear, compelling narratives for senior stakeholders.

The role objectives include developing high-quality presentations for executive meetings and strategic initiatives, translating complex technology and business priorities into clear materials, preparing the CIO for daily meetings, ensuring the CIO’s calendar reflects strategic priorities, coordinating with stakeholders for clarity and alignment, tracking follow-ups and progress on commitments, acting as the liaison between the CIO’s office and technology/business teams, building strong relationships with senior leaders, monitoring strategic initiatives, and leveraging data and metrics for decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or related field with an advanced degree preferred. Eight or more years of experience in executive support, business management, or strategic communications within financial services or technology is required. The candidate should have exceptional skills in presentation development and executive storytelling. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and stakeholder management capabilities are essential. Familiarity with Capital Markets and Sales & Trading workflows is preferred but not mandatory.

Additional Requirements
