Role and Responsibilities of a Banking Associate

The Banking Associate is a vital part of TD’s promise to deliver excellent service to its customers. Responsible for everyday banking transactions, the associate will also provide advice and support regarding TD’s services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial objectives. The associate will perform a wide range of tasks across multiple areas within the North Haven store location. This includes processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers about all banking products and services.

The Banking Associate will also provide end-to-end advice to customers, building trust through educational content and tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations. The successful candidate will utilize TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers, deepening relationships by providing tailored advice to attract and retain customers. The associate will understand the financial needs of the customers and promote relevant products and services, ensuring a positive customer experience.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year’s experience working with customers. This can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Preferably, the candidate will have demonstrated customer service skills and teller experience. The candidate must complete Teller training and part 1 of platform training upon hire. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, effective problem-solving skills, and a capacity to work independently and within deadlines are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required, and a Notary License is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

The role involves occasional domestic travel, performing multiple tasks, operating standard office equipment, and responding quickly to sounds. The successful candidate must be comfortable with sitting, standing, and walking frequently. The role may also require occasional lifting or carrying of items under and over 25lbs, as well as occasional squatting, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead or forward. The candidate must be able to concentrate for long periods and perform basic mathematical operations.
