Scotiabank, a leading bank in the Americas, is actively seeking an experienced Associate Director for its Corporate Banking department, specifically focusing on U.S. Multinational Coverage. This exciting opportunity is open to candidates based in New York, NY, or Houston, TX. The salary range for this position is $200,000. However, the final offer may vary based on the successful candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.

The Associate Director will manage the relationship of U.S. subsidiaries corporates while also supporting the broader U.S. senior and junior teams.

About the Global Banking and Markets Division

Global Banking and Markets (GBM) is a leading Canadian Capital Markets and Investment Banking business from Scotiabank with an expanding platform in the US and Latin America. Scotiabank’s strong U.S. presence offers clients an essential bridge to this key global market for trade and investment flows across the Americas and the world.

GBM provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of the clients. The product range includes debt and equity financing, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, fixed income products, derivatives, energy, foreign exchange, and precious metals.

Role and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Associate Director includes developing robust client relationships and working closely with product partners in Global Transaction Banking, Markets, and Investment Banking in the U.S. market. This includes championing a client-centric culture, leveraging Scotiabank’s global and in-country footprint and systems, and product knowledge to grow client revenue and primacy.

The role also involves maintaining strong knowledge of Scotiabank’s local and global platform, product capabilities, operational processes, risk appetite, and risk culture. The Associate Director will also assist in portfolio management, including preparing pitch books, credit write-ups (for non-lending and lending products), and overseeing deal execution.

Key Qualifications

Candidates should hold a Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Math, Engineering, Economics, Science, or Technology. They should have at least 7+ years of experience in Corporate Banking Relationship Management, Investment Banking, and/or Global Transaction Banking.

Successful candidates should demonstrate excellence in working effectively as an individual and as part of a team, showing strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of non-lending products including Global Transaction Banking, Foreign Exchange, Risk Solutions, Project Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, and USPP is also essential.
