The Role of a Banking Associate at TD
The Banking Associate is a key player in delivering TD’s Brand promise at a store location. This role is responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice, and educational support on the wide gamut of services, products, and tools offered by TD. As such, a Banking Associate plays a critical role in helping Customers to achieve their financial goals.
Job Responsibilities and Expectations
The role of a Banking Associate at TD is diverse and multi-faceted. Key responsibilities include processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The associate is expected to use TD’s systems and tools effectively to engage with customers, acquire and deepen relationships, and provide advice and guidance. The associate’s role also extends to understanding the customer’s financial needs and providing recommendations for appropriate products and services.
Education and Experience Requirements
The ideal candidate for the Banking Associate role should have a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year’s experience working with customers. This experience can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Other preferred skills include customer service skills, teller experience, strong organization skills, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A Notary License is also preferred.
Customer Accountabilities
At TD, the customer is always at the heart of every operation. As such, the Banking Associate is expected to provide legendary customer service while transacting, promoting, educating, and referring TD Products to new and existing customers. The associate is also expected to manage wait times efficiently, engage in lobby leadership, and understand and support the Bank’s customer service strategy.
