Job Responsibilities and Scope

The Banking Associate plays a key role in delivering TD’s brand promise at the store location. They are responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice and educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.

Tasks range from processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on all banking products and services. The associate is also expected to provide consultative support, proactive insights and recommendations, and leverage TD’s systems and tools to engage with customers to deepen relationships. Furthermore, the associate will accurately complete everyday banking transactions, service customers on the teller line and platform as needed, and manage self-generated leads, among other tasks.

Education and Experience

Applicants are expected to have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience working with customers. This experience could be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. Other desirable skills and qualifications include strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, demonstrated problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a Notary License.

Customer, Shareholder, and Employee Accountabilities

The Banking Associate is expected to consistently provide legendary customer service, establish and nurture customer relationships, manage wait times for client meetings, and understand and support the bank’s customer service strategy. They are also responsible for ensuring tasks are performed within established policy and procedures, understanding, utilizing, and following compliance/risk and control programs, and ensuring ongoing compliance with internal/external audit and regulatory requirements.

From the shareholder perspective, the associate ensures compliance when completing operational activities, accurately processes cash/deposit/withdrawal transactions, and other account servicing requests. They also ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures.

As a team member, the associate is expected to contribute to a positive work environment, be an active participant in personal performance and development activities, and collaborate with team members to contribute to the success of the team and organization.

Physical Requirements and Other Details

The role requires occasional domestic travel and frequent sedentary work. The associate is expected to respond quickly to sounds, operate standard office equipment, and perform multiple tasks. The associate will also be required to lift/carry items under 25 lbs. occasionally. The role requires the associate to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and apply common sense to deal with problems involving standardized situations.
