Roles and Responsibilities as a Personal Banker
As a member of the Personal and Business Banking team, you will work in a fast-paced environment where you’ll have the opportunity to make a substantial difference in our clients’ lives. As a Personal Banker, your role is not just about financial transactions. You’ll be fostering key relationships with clients, understanding their financial and personal goals, providing informative and tailored service, and recommending the right products and solutions that will drive their financial success. Our working hours are flexible, but you should be available from Monday to Friday, 8:00am- 7:00pm CT and Saturday from 8:00am- 1:00pm CT.
Key Success Factors
Client Engagement
A significant part of your role involves meeting with clients to understand their personal and business priorities, advise them on solutions, and provide a forward-looking financial plan. Use your knowledge of cash management, credit, investment and wealth protection to help clients meet their goals.
Relationship Building
Your role extends beyond financial services to engaging in marketing and outreach activities to show clients you value them and their communities. Your goal is to grow your network, deepen existing relationships, and work as one team to ensure clients are connected to the right people and opportunities.
Leveraging Technology
At CIBC, we embrace technology. As a Personal Banker, you’ll become a technology expert. You’ll share your knowledge by introducing clients to our mobile banking applications, helping them better manage their banking needs.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for individuals who put our clients first and engage with purpose to find the right solutions. You should have cash handling and banking experience, be goal-oriented, detail-oriented, passionate about people and love to learn. You should also be able to demonstrate 1 year experience in working with clients and achieving sales results. It’s an asset if you have prior banking experience in a similar capacity.
