Understanding the Role of a Banking Associate

The Banking Associate is a key player in delivering TD’s brand promise at a store location. This individual is responsible for accurately completing everyday banking transactions, providing advice, and offering educational support on services, products, and tools to help customers achieve their financial goals.

The role is multifaceted and involves a wide range of tasks. These include processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, educating customers on all banking products and services, building trust with educational content and tools, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations.

Requisites for the Role

The ideal candidate for the Banking Associate role should have a high school diploma or GED, along with at least one year of customer-related experience. This can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, military experience, or any other capacity. Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and a notary license is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

The role involves a mix of sedentary work and physical activities. These include operating standard office equipment, responding quickly to sounds, standing, walking, and occasionally lifting/carrying weights under 25 lbs. In addition, the role requires the ability to concentrate for long periods, apply common sense to deal with problems involving standardized situations, and perform mathematical operations.
