Treasury Accountant Position at White & Case
White & Case is currently seeking a Treasury Accountant to join their team. This role involves handling trust and escrow transactions, ensuring compliance, reporting, performing reconciliations, and maintaining accounts. The successful candidate will need to operate across multiple jurisdictions and understand the laws governing trust transactions globally.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must, along with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
About the Finance Team at White & Case
The Global Finance team, led by the firm’s CFO, Steve Wrede, is a robust unit comprising approximately 280 members worldwide. The team’s core functions include billing, statutory accounting, management reports creation and distribution, vendor payments processing, and employee reimbursement management.
Working in harmony across different offices and countries, the team embodies a multicultural and supportive environment. Their collective efforts are geared toward achieving the firm’s goals and continually strengthening its position in the market.
The team is also responsible for partner compensation, strategic procurement of vendor services, global tax strategies, inventory management, and profitability analysis of clients, matters, and timekeeper groups. They collaborate with partners and other business services groups to establish hourly billing rates and client-specific fee arrangements. The Treasury team handles global cash management, foreign currencies, and hedging.
Working in consultation with the firm’s leaders, the team sets annual global revenue and expense budgets across Regional Sections and offices, including legal and business services departments. They continually review expenditures to ensure the firm’s resources are used efficiently.
Duties and Accountabilities of the Treasury Accountant
- Processing and handling of trust and escrow disbursements and receipts
- Monitoring and posting of client receipts
- Preparation of monthly trust reporting for management
- Assisting with audit requests (internal and external)
- Performing ad-hoc account analysis and reporting
- Liaising with the global finance teams as necessary
- Maintaining and updating training and process documentation
- Ensuring transactions comply with global and statutory policies and protocols
- Preparing variance analysis on the management accounts
- Performing other reasonable duties as required by the business
Qualifications for the Treasury Accountant Role
- A Bachelor’s degree
- 5 – 10 years of law firm experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
- Exceptional self-motivation, determination, interpersonal skills, and resolve
- Experience with Elite 3E is advantageous
Location and Reporting
- The Treasury Accountant role is based in Tampa, Florida
- The role will report to the Global Financial Operations and Systems Manager
