The Role of the Banking Associate
The Banking Associate plays a crucial part in delivering TD’s brand promise at a store location. This role involves accurately processing day-to-day banking transactions, providing advice, and offering educational support on banking services, products, and tools to customers. It is a multi-faceted role that requires a broad range of skills and capabilities.
As a Banking Associate, you will be tasked with processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers about banking products and services. You’ll build trust with customers through educational content and tools, provide consultative support, and offer proactive insights and recommendations. The role also involves identifying customer financial needs to promote and educate on products and services, or refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner.
Qualifications and Experience Required
TD Bank is looking for candidates with a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of customer service experience, which could come from volunteering, education, or military service. Other desired qualities include strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, effective problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A Notary License is preferred but not mandatory.
Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities
As a Banking Associate, you will be responsible for providing legendary customer service and nurturing customer relationships. You’ll also manage wait times for clients and engage in lobby leadership. From a shareholder perspective, you’ll ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulations, accurately process transactions, and follow policy and procedure for Customer Authentication, among other tasks.
