The Role and Purpose of the Manager, Regulatory Reporting Projects
A job opportunity has opened up at GBM for the role of Manager, Regulatory Reporting Projects. The individual in this role will be responsible for performing quality control on regulatory reporting for GBM U.S. Finance, ensuring that specific goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in alignment with the team’s business strategies and objectives. The Manager, Regulatory Reporting Projects reports to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Reporting Projects.
The role is designed to ensure all activities conducted comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. The Manager will be responsible for the design and implementation of both tactical and strategic initiatives that enhance the quality of regulatory reporting. They will also be tasked with reviewing, analyzing, and prioritizing the resolution of issues and monitoring their resolution through system project build, testing, and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
As the Manager, Regulatory Reporting Projects, your duties will involve championing a customer-oriented culture to deepen client relationships, designing and implementing regulatory reporting systems, and understanding data at its source. You will also be required to prepare business requirements and functional specifications to support Finance regulatory reporting system change initiatives, manage all phases of testing, and review system data flows to identify issues and propose solutions.
You will work closely with the Data Group Office to identify, document, and propose solutions for data quality issues. You will also be expected to develop and implement interim solutions to address regulatory reporting issues and review regulatory reporting reports against risk reporting to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
Qualifications and Skills Required
The ideal candidate for this role should hold an MBA or MS in Finance, Risk or Computer Science and have 10+ years of verifiable progressive experience in problem-solving of financial information. They should have a strong understanding of business risks and internal controls, and a solid knowledge of the objectives and content of U.S. regulatory reporting.
Ability to develop strong relationships, gain the confidence of stakeholders, and demonstrate results in unstructured situations is also essential. Familiarity with the Axiom application development life cycle methodologies and experience in assessing and escalating sensitive issues, performing root cause analysis, and developing tactical and strategic preventive measures are also required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are also necessary, along with a solid understanding of overall banking business and capital markets products.
