Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Banking Associate plays a pivotal role in delivering the TD brand promise at the store location. This role is responsible for handling everyday banking transactions, providing advice, and offering educational support on various banking services, products, and tools. This is aimed at aiding customers in achieving their financial goals.
The Banking Associate is expected to perform a wide range of tasks that include processing customer transactions, opening new accounts, and educating customers on various banking products and services. They play a vital role in delivering the end-to-end advice customers expect, building trust, providing consultative support, and advocating with proactive insights and recommendations.
The role requires understanding the customer’s financial needs to identify opportunities to promote and educate on products and services, refer them to the appropriate team member or internal Bank partner, and ensure a positive customer experience.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED and have at least one year of customer interaction experience which could be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience. While not mandatory, teller experience and a Notary License are preferred.
Apart from this, the candidate should possess excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and an ability to work independently and within deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required.
Customer, Shareholder, and Employee Accountabilities
The role of a Banking Associate entails a variety of accountabilities towards customers, shareholders, and fellow employees. As a Banking Associate, you will be expected to provide legendary customer service, manage wait times for customer meetings, and understand and support the Bank’s customer service strategy.
Shareholder accountabilities include ensuring compliance with company guidelines and regulations, processing transactions accurately, and adhering to required controls.
As part of the team, you will contribute to a positive work environment, actively seek opportunities for improvement, and may even train and mentor newer colleagues.
Physical Requirements
The role of a Banking Associate involves a mix of sedentary and physical work. You may be required to perform multiple tasks, operate standard office equipment, and move safely in confined spaces. Some occasional lifting or carrying may also be required.
